On-Campus Commencement Housing
Commencement housing applications will be available—only for graduating seniors—February 1–April 15, 2019 for a limited number of spaces within residential houses. Graduating seniors may request as many as five beds (not five rooms) for a total of five guests by going online to the Residential Life website, logging into the Residence Housing System, and completing the Commencement Housing Application. Only the graduating senior will have access to the online application. All requests and room assignments are first-come, first-served. A confirmation of reservations will be sent to students on a weekly basis throughout the application period. No more applications will be accepted once the available spaces have been taken.
Room Assignment
Please note that rooms will be located among other guests as well as students who are remaining for Commencement and provide each guest with a twin bed, basic linens (sheets, pillows, pillowcase, and towel) and shared coed community bathroom. Requests for shared doubles will be assigned according to availability. If doubles are not available, guests will be assigned to singles in close proximity to one another.
Check-in and Check-out
Guests may stay 1, 2, or 3 nights beginning Friday, May 24. Check-in is between 2pm and 10pm, Friday–Sunday, but graduating seniors will be strongly encouraged to pick up their keys for their guests on Friday. Check-out must occur no later than 9am on Monday, May 27: Room keys and access cards should be returned to the Residential Operation Center (ROC) on the fourth floor of Main Building.
Requests for Special Accommodations
If a request includes an individual who requires special accommodation, this should be made clear on the application. Such requests should be made on a need basis in order to ensure that all those who have a genuine need are likely to be accommodated.
Payment
A total of $50 per guest will be charged to the graduating senior’s Vassar account. Guests may bring sleeping bags for small children who may stay in the same room at no extra cost and not be counted against the maximum of 5 guests; seniors should be sure to note such situations with children on the application as we will offer free beds if there are extras. Cancellations will be accepted and refunded only through April 22.
